William Judd business, court and family papers, 1756-1816.

Correspondence, deeds, accounts, bills and receipts of a Farmington, Connecticut justice of the peace and lawyer. The bulk of the materials consist of summonses, complaints, depositions, writs and other documents related to William Judd's work as a justice of peace and to his son William Samuel Judd's work as constable. William S. Judd was also a merchant and his accounts and correspondence represent that aspect of his life. Of interest are letters and documents relating to buying and selling land in Georgia, and the transactions of the New England Mississippi Land Company.
